Kindness Boomerang

I just came across this video and I LOVE it. It just goes to show you that it only takes one person to make a difference. How have you made a difference today?

3 Little Chefs

Since it was raining pretty much all day and we had to stay indoors we thought it was a great day for baking. We traded in our Super Hero capes (just temporarily) for chef jackets and an apron.
We decided that for our first service we would make some chocolate chip cookies and deliver them to people whom we love and appreciate and also to couple sets of friends who we know have been struggling with different things in life.

And Chef Dallas is adding the best ingredient - the chocolate chips

Even our pal Mona had a thin layer of flour on her :)

And now we are off to deliver them.

Let me take your hand!

We will update the pictures later on so make sure to check back :)

UPDATE:

Well it happens to even the strongest Super Hero's - yep that is right on our way to deliver the cookies (we drove) all of the kids even Roy feel asleep. So the mommy just dropped them off on the doorstep. I didn't get pictures of them sleeping ( I didn't think of it until right now when I am blogging about ).

Roy and I re-created the scene on our own doorstep.

Since this is not the same as the little Super Hero's doing this we will be performing this service again in the future. Oh man - I have to make and eat more cookies in the near future - Bummer :)

Super Hero Training Camp Day 1

We started out with Super Hero Training Camp. We had so much fun learning how to be Super Hero's. We also discussed what a true Super Hero was. One of the activities we did for training camp was to write thank you cards to those who gave us Christmas gifts. A true Super Hero is always thankful for the things others do for us :)

Roy and Dakota writing thank you letters.

I will post more pictures within the next couple of weeks as Super Hero Training Camp will last that long.

Up Up and Away

Welcome to our little corner of the Internet. We wanted to have a place to share our experiences over the next year or so. We are embarking on a wonderful journey.

In November of last year my husband and I were thinking of ways to teach our kids the real love of Christ. We decided that we wanted to teach them the value and also the joy that comes along with perform service for others. It was then that this idea was born. I have been attempting to put these all together for almost 3 months and I think I am finally ready. Why did it take me so long? Well I move a lot slower on getting things done with 3 small and very active boys but they are the reason I am doing this.

What is it that we are doing?

Well we have decided the best way to teach our kids about service is for them to experience it first hand (duh, right). We wanted to make this enjoyable for them and also for the people we are performing the service for. So Super Hero's of Service began.

The Plan:
Instead of flying through the sky and fighting evil villains, as Super Hero's of Service we will do good deeds for other people.

Time Frame:
We will perform our Super Hero acts of service for other's at least once a month for a year.

Dress:
We will be going incogneato. I made our sons super hero capes. Goggles will be optional :)

The cost involved:
We have been putting all of our change into a change jar for about a year now. We will  try to do most things for free but there will be times when some money is required and we will dip into our change jar for those times.

It is not decorated pretty but it gets the job done ;-)

I will be taking photo's and documenting our progress.

How I introduced the idea to my kiddo's:

Since they are so young we discussed what giving service was. We also watched the following video:

President Gordon B. Hinckley recalls a story of an older boy and his young companion as they find an old coat and a badly worn pair of shoes by the roadside.

and also this video (it is a long but well worth watching)

Is he asking for Change, or is he asking for CHANGE?
Follow a man as he affects multiple peoples' lives with just one dollar, proving that it doesn't take much to be the change in someone's life.

Let me take a moment to introduce you to my favorite Super Hero's:

Roy

Super Hero Disguise
He is 5 years old and started Kindergarten this past fall. He LOVES being the big brother and delights in taking care of his little brothers. He is also concerned for others and wants the best for everyone he meets. He is a great role model for his little brothers and is a joy to his mommy.

Dakota

Super Hero Disguise
He is 3 years old (twin) and is so full of energy. He never stops. It makes me exhausted just chasing after him but I wouldn't have it any other way. He loves to socialize and be around others. He is very out going and enjoys helping his mommy when ever he can. He cleans the house better then I do :)

Dallas

Super Hero Disguise

He is also 3 years old (twin) and loves anything and everything that has to do with nature. Camping, fishing biking. critters. You name it he loves it. He is very genuine and is so sweet. He is actually his older brother Roy's shadow and loves to follow him around. Which Roy loves!

and last but not least there is my hot husband and myself:

Becky and David

We have been married for 7 1/2 years - wow how times flies when you are married to a hunk :)

Just want to share more cute pictures of my super hero's:
